Here is a solid hickory hardwood floor that we were contracted to refinish. It is a random width plank configuration which, as we said before, can expand and contract quite a bit if the humidity is not controlled. Especially in the really wide planks! On this job we sanded down the existing hickory hardwood flooring, then sealed it and clear coated it with 3 coats of a high quality oil based finish.
