We ended up matching the color of the stair treads to the hardwood flooring installed throughout the home. With everything matching we achieved a very nice "flow" as you move from one area in the home to another. Once the staircase was built and the new hardwood flooring installed, we sanded everything down and stained it with a chestnut colored stain. Then we applied three coats of a high quality, oil base floor finish! Boardwalk Floors can install a new hardwood floor or solid oak staircase for you too!
