We had to plastic off areas to keep dust out during the sanding down process. Once we fixed the water damaged areas, sanded down the surface to eliminate the scratches and gouges, we then applied a classic grey stain. Right now, grey and greyish colored wood stains are all the rage. This color really contrasted with their existing cabinets. Once the stain had dried, we applied three coats of high quality floor finish to complete the job!
